Infastech® is taking steps towards "going green" by improving the environment for future generations!
- Our most widely used material is steel. We save natural mineral resources by purchasing steel that is made with a high percentage of recycled scrap steel.
- We recycle 100% of the waste material generated from our products. That includes cutting and tapping oils.
- We focus on operating efficiencies and practice lean manufacturing. We conserve natural resources through a philosophy of improved product and process design, while minimizing waste and pollution.
- We supply products made with work hardened steel using our cold forming technology. Cold forming technologies eliminate the need for heat treatment which saves fossil fuel.
- Our Acu® and Optia® coatings are environmentally friendly. We do not use dangerous Hexavalent Chromium in these coating processes and still comply with EC (European Community) requirements.
- We are "Green Certified" by Sony, one of the largest manufacturers of electronic products.
- Our thread forming fastener technology for magnesium and composite fasteners eliminates a thread cutting or tapping operation saving energy, tool usage, and related cutting oils.
- Our Avdel® Speed Fastening® Blind Riveting Systems eliminate the need for a spent mandrel during the rivet placement process, thus eliminating wastage, workstation clean-up time, EH & S issues, product raw material recycling costs, manufacturing and tooling costs and plating costs. This process also reduces the net weight of the of the fastener by 50% to 70% and saves logistics costs.
- Our Avdel® Nutsert® blind threaded inserts reduces the need for welding and allows thinner application sheet material to be used. Savings in raw material, welding process costs, clean-up and post plating operations reduce the need for power and energy used by our end customers.
- The High Strength Strux® clinch stud and nut product removes the need for welding, post plating and plating and conserves power and materials.
- Our Engineering Team is continually looking for methods to improve fastener corrosion resistance, while using organic compounds that are easier to apply and more resilient in performance.
- We use corrugated cardboard boxes that are made with an average of 50% to 70% post consumer content. All of our operations recycle paper, plastic, and glass.
