The Avdel® Brand name is over 70 years old. The name was derived from 'Aviation Developments', the company's original name when it was founded in 1936.
At that time aircraft construction was moving from metal and wood to all metal structures. This required new fasteners and tools to install them. The Chobert® Speed Fastening® system was developed to meet these needs and is still widely used today.
In 1922 Elco Tool and Screw was founded in Rockford, IL, primarily to supply wood screws to the then booming local furniture manufacturing business. Over the next several decades the company continued to grow, constantly finding new markets and developing its fastener manufacturing capabilities.
The brand name is new but the heritage it represents reaches far back into our Company history. iForm™ threaded fasteners deliver an innovative technical and engineering capability developed since 1969. Most products we use in everyday life require some type of fastening.
